Albert Oehlen: The 5000 Fingers of Dr. Ö.

Hardcover | 24.38 x 1.78 x 30.23 cm | 144 PP

Kerber | 2014 | 9783735600257

This catalogue accompanying an exhibition in Museum Wiesbaden (2014) includes works from the 1980s to 2014.

Albert Oehlen has for decades been one of Germany’s most creative and versatile artists. In his large-scale paintings, collages and drawings, he constantly raises the question of whether art can ever really be anything other than abstract.

In this exhibition Oehlen’s own works are complemented by those of friends or other artists, which he has always wanted to exhibit in Wiesbaden. The result of this cooperation between the artist and the museum is not a retrospective but rather an opulent homage to the artistic oeuvre of Albert Oehlen and an impressive panorama of what takes precedence in his world.
