Centre for International Light Art Unna (Rare edition) (Non-mint)

Hardcover | 20.96 x 1.91 x 26.67 cm | 152 pp

Wienand | 2007 | 9783879098545

The Centre for International Light Art is based in the former Linden beer brewery in Unna, Germany. It is the first and only museum that focuses exclusively on the presentation of light art. The encounter between avant-garde light art and historic building substance creates a distinctive atmosphere and stages an exciting dialogue between the past and the future.

This book documents the Centre's valuable collection of works by international artists as well as the exhibitions from 2001-2007 specifically developed for the vaulted cellar of the museum by ten of the world's most renowned creators of light installations . The labyrinthine corridors, cooling rooms and fermentation vats of the former brewery measure more than 24,000 square feet. This "underground" museum is recognised from outside by a towering chimney featuring Mario Merz's fascinating neon installation Fibonacci-Row.
